Chanakya National Law University (CNLU) Patna has recently announced the official notification for Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) 2017 on December 25, 2016. Candidates who are aspiring for Law Programmes should read the complete details to know the eligibility criteria for CLAT 2017. CLAT 2017 eligibility criteria are the minimum eligibility conditions, which is required by the admission test committee to appear for national level law admission test i.e. The candidates who are going to appear for Common Law Entrance Exam are required to read the complete eligibility criteria before filling the online application form.
The candidate who applying for CLAT 2017 should thoroughly go through eligibility criteria and read it carefully as no application fee will be refunded by the examination committee if any of the candidates will be found ineligible at later stages of the law admission process. Moreover, their candidature also stands to be cancelled in such cases. If at any stage of selection, any candidates found ineligible will be rejected without any prior notice. His/her candidature will be stand cancelled in such case.
Eligibility Criteria for CLAT 2016: Under Graduate Programmes
The aspirants who are applying for undergraduate law programmes will have to apply for BA LLB, B.Sc LLB and B.Com LLB across the NLUs. They are required to check the specific minimum requirements for CLAT 2017.
Educational qualification: The candidates should have qualified 12th board examination after having a basic education from 10+2 school system for getting eligible for the common law admission test.
Minimum Marks: The candidates are needed to score 45% for General and OBC candidates and 40% marks for SC and ST Category in Class 12.
Age Limit: The candidates who are applying for undergraduate law programmes should have a maximum age limit of 20 years as on the year of admission. Relaxations are there for reserved category.
Eligibility Criteria for CLAT 2016: Post Graduate Programmes
The candidates who want to apply for Post Graduate Programmes in Law, which means LLM across the NLUs should read the complete eligibility criteria.
Educational Qualification: The candidates who are applying for Post Graduate Programme should have possessed LL.B degree under either three-year or five-year integrated law programmes. The LL.B degree must be from any authorised university or equivalent institution recognised by the BCI.
Minimum Marks: The candidates who belong to General and OBC category must have secured 55% marks in aggregate of the subjects studied at LL.B degree programme. The candidates who belong to SC, ST and other reserved categories are required to score at least 50% marks in the law graduate degree examination.
Age Limit: As per BCI’s rules and regulations, there is no bar on the age limit for getting appeared for CLAT PG 2017.
