CLAT Syllabus

Candidates should read the complete and updated syllabus for CLAT 2017 also called Common Law Admission Test 2018. CLAT 2018 is the is a national level entrance exam, which is conducted once in a year in May month. This test is conducted for providing admissions to the candidates in the Integrated L.L.B and L.L.M courses, which is to be offered by 17 National Law Universities of India. In the year 2018, CLAT Exam 2018 will be managed by Chanakya National Law University, Patna. Earlier, CLAT 2017 was organised by  Rajiv Gandhi National University of Law, Punjab.

Lets check the updates syllabus for CLAT 2018

Section 1: English including comprehension
This section is included in judging the proficiency of the candidates on the basis of knowlege in English Comprhension and English Grammar. Reading comprehension will be included the evaluate the candidates on the basis of their understanding of the passage, the central theme, meanings of words used in the passage etc. The grammar section includes the correction of incorrect grammatical sentences, filling in blanks in sentences with appropriate words, etc.

Section 2: General Knowledge and Currents Affairs
In GK and Current Affairs Section, the aspirants are evaluated on the basis of their knowledge in general awareness including static general knowledge. Similar current affairs questions will test a candidate’s knowledge of current affairs. All the aspirants are required to get themselves updated with news and other topics discussed in mainstream media from March 2017 to April 2018.

Section 3: Mathematics
In this section, candidate’s knowledge on elementary Mathematics, that is, Maths taught up to Class X will be tested.

Section 4: Legal Aptitude
In this section, a candidate’s aptitude or interest in law, research aptitude as well as problem-solving abilities will be tested. It has been said that “Questions in this section will be framed with the help of legal propositions and a set of facts to which the said proposition has to be applied. Some propositions may not be “true” in the real sense (e.g. the legal proposition may be that any person who speaks in a movie hall and disturbs others that are watching the movie will be banned from entering any movie theatre across India for one year). Candidates will have to assume the “truth” of these propositions and answer the questions accordingly”.

Section 5: Logical Reasoning
Logical Reasoning Section is included in judging the candidate’s ability to identify patterns, logical links as well as rectify illogical arguments will be evaluated. This section of CLAT 2018 will include logical reasoning questions along the lines of syllogisms, analogies, logical sequences, etc. However, visual reasoning will not be tested.Candidates can purchase CLAT sample papers from the official website of the exam during
