Section 1: English including comprehension
This section is included in judging the proficiency of the candidates on the basis of knowlege in English Comprhension and English Grammar. Candidates will have to assume the “truth” of these propositions and answer the questions accordingly”.

Section 5: Logical Reasoning
Logical Reasoning Section is included in judging the candidate’s ability to identify patterns, logical links as well as rectify illogical arguments will be evaluated. CLAT 2017: Eligibility Criteria for Common Law Admission Test


Chanakya National Law University (CNLU) Patna has recently announced the official notification for Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) 2017 on December 25, 2016. Candidates who are aspiring for Law Programmes should read the complete details to know the eligibility criteria for CLAT 2017. CLAT 2017 eligibility criteria are the minimum eligibility conditions, which is required by the admission test committee to appear for national level law admission test i.e. The candidates who are going to appear for  Common Law Entrance Exam are required to read the complete eligibility criteria before filling the online application form.

The candidate who applying for CLAT 2017 should thoroughly go through eligibility criteria and read it carefully as no application fee will be refunded by the examination committee if any of the candidates will be found ineligible at later stages of the law admission process. Moreover, their candidature also stands to be cancelled in such cases. If at any stage of selection, any candidates found ineligible will be rejected without any prior notice. His/her candidature will be stand cancelled in such case.

Eligibility Criteria for CLAT 2016: Under Graduate Programmes
The aspirants who are applying for undergraduate law programmes will have to apply for BA LLB, B.Sc LLB and B.Com LLB across the NLUs. They are required to check the specific minimum requirements for CLAT 2017.

Educational qualification: The candidates should have qualified 12th board examination after having a basic education from 10+2 school system for getting eligible for the common law admission test.

Minimum Marks: The candidates are needed to score 45% for General and OBC candidates and 40% marks for SC and ST Category in Class 12.

Age Limit: The candidates who are applying for undergraduate law programmes should have a maximum age limit of 20 years as on the year of admission. Relaxations are there for reserved category.

Eligibility Criteria for CLAT 2016: Post Graduate Programmes
The candidates who want to apply for Post Graduate Programmes in Law, which means LLM across the NLUs should read the complete eligibility criteria.

Educational Qualification: The candidates who are applying for Post Graduate Programme should have possessed LL.B degree under either three-year or five-year integrated law programmes. The LL.B degree must be from any authorised university or equivalent institution recognised by the BCI.

Minimum Marks: The candidates who belong to General and OBC category must have secured 55% marks in aggregate of the subjects studied at LL.B degree programme. The candidates who belong to SC, ST and other reserved categories are required to score at least 50% marks in the law graduate degree examination.

Age Limit: As per BCI’s rules and regulations, there is no bar on the age limit for getting appeared for CLAT PG 2017.

CLAT 2017 exam dates released, registrations to begin


The Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) 2017 exam dates have been released. As per schedule, the exam will be held on May 14, 2017 from 3 pm to 5 pm.

This year, the examination will be conducted by the Chanakya National Law University, and will oversee admissions to the eighteen national law universities that are part of the CLAT.

CLAT is an all-India entrance examination, conducted on rotation by 17 National Law Universities (NLUs) for admissions to five-year integrated Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Law (BA plus LLB) and one-year Master of Law (LLM) programme for the academic session 2016-17.

The Vice-Chancellor of CNLU Prof A Lakshminath recently told Bar & Bench that the site will be up and running by December 31, after which the application form and the official notification will be uploaded.

CLAT exam is conducted by the 17 National Law Universities (NLUs) on a rotational basis. Last year, CLAT exam was conducted by Rajiv Gandhi National University of Law (RGNUL) Punjab. AILET 2017: applications begin from Jan 1; exam on May 7


AILET 2017 will be held on May 7 as National Law University Delhi (NLU-D) will be inviting application forms for law admissions from January 1, 2017. The applications, as per the NLU Delhi AILET 2017 notification will be announced for both undergraduate and postgraduate programmes.

NLU Delhi has published exam notification for All India Law Entrance Test (AILET) 2017 on October 6, 2016, where the NLU Registrar, Dr. G.S. Bajpai has mentioned the exam timings. “The entrance exam for BA LLB, LLM, and Ph.D programmes through AILET 2017 will be held on May 7 scheduled to begin at 3:00 pm and end at 4:30 pm at various centres across India,” informed the Registrar.

Adding on to the information, he said, “The application forms for AILET 2017 will begin from January 1, 2107.”

Careers360 had written to the NLU Delhi officials regarding AILET 2017 on October 5, after which the official notification has been published.

AILET 2017 eligibility criteria has remained same as last year, with no changes as law aspirants applying for BA LLB programmes will need to qualify 10+2 board examination from CBSE or equivalent examination boards with a minimum passing percentage. Those applying for LL.M programmes need to have an LL.B degree from any recognised law institution.

NLU Delhi will be holding AILET 2017 offline on the scheduled date where applicants will have to attempt as many as 150 questions within a time limit of 90 minutes, i.e., 1 hour and 30 minutes. The result of AILET 2017 is expected to be declared in the third week of May. The exam is conducted for offering admissions to 83 BA LLB and 50 LLM seats.

CLAT 2017 exam on May 14; MNLU Nagpur joins CLAT


CLAT 2017 will be held on May 14 and the application for the same will begin from January 1, 2017. Maharashtra National Law University (MNLU) Nagpur is the latest addition to committee of common law admission test.

“We will conduct CLAT on May 14. This year onwards, MNLU Nagpur will also be the part of CLAT Committee,” CLAT Convenor Dr A Lakshminath told Careers360. With the addition of the NLU Nagpur, the total number of seats for CLAT 2017 will increase to 2352 for 2017 admission year, the CLAT convenor added.

The Convenor said that notification for the online test will be announced on December 25.

Chanakya National Law University (CNLU) Patna is conducting the online Common Law Admission Test.

CLAT Convenor Dr A Lakshminath also shared CLAT exam calendar along with the changes in admission policy. “CLAT 2017 applications will begin from January 1 as we will be conducting the exam on May 14 for which the results will be declared on May 25,” he said, adding, “This year the exam will be conducted for a total of 2352 seats as MNLU Nagpur is the 18th NLU to join CLAT committee.”

ULSAT 2017 eligibility criteria

Candidates are required to ensure fulfilment of eligibility criteria for ULSAT 2017. Following the ULSAT eligibility, candidates need to have qualified in 12th board examination with a minimum score of 50% marks in aggregate of the subjects and English as a compulsory paper. Moreover, the candidates should also fulfil the age conditions under which they should have born on or after October 1, 1995 to be considered eligible for appearing in ULSAT 2017. The 12th board examination appearing candidates will also be considered eligible to apply for ULSAT 2017 subjected to the fulfilment of minimum marks required in the exam.

ULSAT 2017 application process

Candidates will have to register online and generate registration id and password. The candidates will have to use these as login details while applying for ULSAT 2017. Candidates will also have to pay an application fee of Rs. 1850 in either of the modes–online or offline. The ULSAT applications can also be purchased by paying Rs. 1750 at cash counters in the college campus. ULSAT 2017 application form needs to be submitted till May 3, 2017 in online mode only.

ULSAT 2017 exam pattern

UPES Dehradun will be conducting an aptitude test for offering admissions into five-year integrated law programmes including BA LLB, BBA LLB and B.Com LLB. The UPES regulated ULSAT 2017 will be an online paper (computer-based test) comprising of as many as 200 questions. The objective-type questions will have multiple-choices as answer options. A candidate needs to click on the option which he deems to be correct for the given question. The questions need to be attempted within a time limit of three hours as USLAT 2017 will commence from 9:30 am at various exam centres in 36 cities of India. Each correct answer will be awarded one mark and no marks will be deducted in case of wrong attempts.

How can I fill IPU CET Law 2017 application form?

Candidates can fill the application form of IPU CET Law 2017 in online mode only. They will need to register for the common entrance exam of GGSIPU undergraduate law programmes and then fill the online application using login id and password generated after the registration process. The IPU CET Law application forms can only be submitted after payment of fees. Candidates need to pay Rs. 1000 for as application fee. What is exam pattern of IPU CET Law 2017?

GGSIPU will be conducting IPU CET Law 2017 on April 16. The exam will be conducted offline (paper-pen mode) for 150 minutes. Candidates will have to answer as many as 150 questions carrying four marks each. The questions will be of objective nature having multiple-choice answer options. The question booklet will comprise questions from various sections–English Language, General Knowledge, Reasoning and Legal Aptitude. Candidates will need to choose only one option which they deem to be correct. In case of wrong attempts, one mark each will be deducted from the total scored marks. Questions answered with more than one option will also be liable for negative marking even though one of the chosen answer options deem to be correct.
